Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actress and vocalist whose dramatic varied performances earned her the acclaim of fans in various genres ranging from period drama to action and thriller. Johansson was born in New York City, and raised there by her architect father and producer mother. She was the twin sister of Hunter and her brother Hunter were the youngest siblings. She began to develop an interest in acting from a very young age, and began auditioning for commercials at age seven. To enhance her skills, she attended at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan and then the Professional Children's School. In the Off-Broadway play Sophistry she was in the role of Ethan Hawke at age 8, and in North produced by Rob Reiner in 1994 she began her film debut.
